All members must abide by these rules and respect their enforcement across the boards. Offenders will be dealt with promptly by the administrators of the site and will be issued punishment, as seen fitting for their infringement, by said administrators – there will be no argument over their response, the admins’ words are final. (Although if you feel you have been unfairly treated by an admin, or are unsure why you have been warned, do feel free to personal message [PM] the admin who dealt with you for a fuller explanation. Flaming will be ignored however.)
i. Users must create a separate account for each character that they wish to play; the username of each account may be whatever the user desires it to be but the display name of the account must be the character’s name (first and last).
ii. Users may have a maximum of three characters – with the condition that only one may be an important canon (please refer to the canon list to see whom this encompasses) and one must be an original character. For example, the person who plays Draco Malfoy may also play someone such as Viktor Krum or a child of Neville Longbottom’s and an original character that they have devised for themselves; or any combination of two of the prior, or perhaps only one.
iii. Mary-Sues (Marty-Stus) will not be permitted. In order to maintain a certain amount of realism to characters, they must have flaws, no character can be entirely perfect. For example: a character may not have flawless looks, a personality that draws everyone to them, have powers over the opposite (or same!) sex, and be top of all of their classes – Mary-Sue can also apply to a character who possesses any one of these things without very good explanation.
iv. Special abilities and Species will only be allowed on excellent applications – we’re not going to end up with a pack of Werewolves, Vela, Vampires or Metamorphmagi running around... Password for character creation: "Would you like a map?"
v. Drugs, Alcohol, Pregnancy, Suicidal tendancies – all problems associated with the real world that we will not be encountering within the walls of Hogwarts or within the histories’ of student characters. Adult characters may become pregnant or alcoholics however.
vi. If an application is denied, we will offer advice on what is wrong with it and what needs to be modified before acceptance.
If you come across anyone breaking any of the above rules, please PM an administrator – although we are awesome and spend an inordinate amount of our time on the site, we cannot be everywhere at once and do, on occasion, miss things. Also, if there are any queries, anything that you think has been missed out, a particularly funny joke you heard that you’d like to share, do feel free to PM an admin and we’ll get right on it.
